PCS May 'Together Forever' blog hop

Welcome to this month's PCS blog hop featuring this Pyramid box template bonus in May's issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler! Perfect for Party favors or decorations or even a small gift! This is a great template to add to anyone's collection! I love to have options available when choosing the perfect handmade box!

I chose the new Presto Patterns paper for this box, using River Rock and Pink Pirouette inks to sponge on the base. I added a clear bead at the bottom from the Pretties Kit. I thought the miniature paper roses (see April issue of PCS for mini Paper Rose tutorial) added to the top along with the yummy pink satin ribbon, completed the look! A beautiful Wedding look and the paper roses and base could be made any color to match the brides colors!

Styled Gold

I'm not sure I like this with the eyelet ruffle but I kept it anyway....ruffles are on everything, have you noticed? Clothing is all about ruffles! Why not add them to the cards? Ok so easy peasy card, I embossed the flowers on an upper corner of the Presto Patterns DS paper with Gold EP and then colored them with Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango pads and aqua painter. Then I sprayed the paper with Gold and Log Cabin Smooch! I sprayed the Dusty Durango Ribbon with the smooch spray too! The background Lattice is Whisper White C/S using the new Square Lattice Embossing folder (Summer Mini) and the eyelet border punch for the ruffle. The card base is Whisper White C/S. ~~Tip I learned: If you mist the Presto Patterns paper with water directly before and after misting with smooch and blot with a paper towel, the effect is not quite as dramatic!

Painted Wall Panels

This is a Styrofoam Panel for insulation, they were 8 feet tall by 3 feet wide and I painted 8 of them for a play my son was in. The Jr. High department needed Castle Walls that could be moved for the production of Robinhood! Oh wow were these alot of work but the fabulous thing about them is they still have them and can re-use them for other productions! I was really proud of how these came out! It's my art, just like my cards and I love to paint! I rolled base coats of latex on first to fill the pits and then mixed laytex and acrylics together to get my colors. I did some floating along with some ragging. The blocks were not drawn on first, I tried that but it didn't look right, too uniform for the medieval look the was needed so I just started at the top and worked down using my flat brush to form the blocks! I think I used a couple of Stampin' Up! brushes too. LOL-Thanks for looking!

Double Pocket Card

This is a fun card to make and plan the layout backgrounds if stamped. Or double sided paper works great and saves stamping time on the backgrounds! I chose to stamp my cardstock for this card and another double pocket card which I like even better but am reserving for my upcoming stamp class! This card base was made with one 8 1/2"  x 11"  sheet of Whisper White C/S and the tags and punched greeting use White, Chocolate chip & Pretty in Pink C/S. The center layer with the stamped 'Sanded' background was sponged with Pretty in Pink ink. ~Stamps: Bella Toile, Sanded, Pedaling Past (Summer Mini). Also this card will open up like a regular card as well if you want it to or you can turn it into a free standing card! I like the options offered for this card by using a full sheet of C/S!
Happy Monday! Directions for double pocket card Here!

Smooch Flowers

Oh I had to watercolor these! LOL- I stamped the flowers from the Elements of Style set with Soft Suede ink on Pink Pirouette C/S. I used my aqua painter to pick up ink from the lid of the stamp pads to water color the images. I used Celery, Garden Green, Rose Red, So Saffron and More Mustard, Regal Rose and Sahara Sand to go around the foliage with. I used the corner rounder punch along with the Curly Label punch and the 1 1/4" square which I trimmed to fit inside the curly label! The card base is River Rock layered on top of that is Riding Hood Red C/S. I used Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and then finished it off by spraying the whole card with Vanilla Smooch! Oh So sparkly!....

Framed Roses

Oh I love this new set from the Summer Mini Catalog called Elements of Style! This was such an easy card to make too! I stamped the main image on Vanilla C/S using Garden Green and Real Red markers to ink the image. I stamped the other swirl image on the Riding Hood Red Frame using Riding Hood Red ink. The Corners of the Vanilla C/S are stamped with the main image using River Rock ink! The saying is stamped on River Rock C/S inked with Real Red and Garden Green Markers. The Vanilla panel is framed on River Rock C/S and then the Base card which is Riding Hood Red! I used the White gel pen to dot around the scallop frames. These new Vintage Tags are Fabulous!! The Tag framed one Miniature Red Rose and then I tied the string into a bow! Scallop Oval Die and Scallop Oval punch both used. To get the tutorial and instructions for these miniature roses, sigh up for the April Issue of Paper Crafters Sampler! Use code PCSCF or mention stampcrave and that you saw them here! I actually did a video tutorial-how fun is that! LOL- I love to get credit for my hard work as we all do on the design team so when you mention me when you sign up, I will recieve credit! Thanks for visiting me!

Smooch Roses

I cut two panels of this new Presto Patterns Background paper from the new Summer Mini Catalog! I then used them as a test for the new Smooch Spritzers...wow aren't those fun! So I liked the backgrounds and decided to add some Miniature Paper Roses in White/Vanilla on a few Old Olive branches I punched out using the two-step bird punch. I Sprayed the Vanilla Taffeta ribbon with the Log Cabin Color Smooch Spritz along with the die cut tag from Lots of Tags. I stamped the saying with Soft Suede Ink and sponged the edge of the Vanilla Card base with Suede ink as well. I like this aged look! The Presto Patterns paper is fabulous, I can't wait to play with it some more! The Saying is from the Thought and Prayers Stamp Set!

Paper Rose Garden

This card uses another lovely new Summer Mini Catalog stamp set: Elements of Style.
I stamped the background using stamps from this set and Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red classic inks! The card base is Riding Hood Red, the ribbon 5/8" Regal Rose. I used the new Square Lattice embossing folder from the Summer Mini on the stamped background to give it lots of texture! The Miniature Roses are made with Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink C/S. The stems/leaves are die cut using the Little Leaves die with Old Olive C/S. The Tag is die cut using the Lots of Tags die, stamped with Baja Breeze, stamped off first and then words stamped using Riding Hood Red ink. For the directions and tutorial on these Miniature Paper Roses see the April issue of Paper Crafters Sampler and use code PCSCF to sign up! I will be posting a card every day this week featuring my Tiny Little Roses so check back again!

Shabby Charm 2

It's Friday and I finally got a chance to blog! This is my second to last card using the Charming Stamp set and Soft Suede, River Rock and Pink Pirouette papers and inks! Love these colors together! I think River Rock will become my new Creamy Caramel!!! I stamped up the Pink Pirouette background panel with the Bella Toile background stamp and the stamps from the Charming set using River Rock ink, then I stamped the script words using Soft Suede! The focal point is textured Vanilla C/S stamped with the adorable flower inked with Garden Green and Pretty in Pink Markers! I masked the flowers off with a post-it note and sponged River Rock ink around the post-it! The strip of River Rock was stamped using Soft Suede ink. I cut out the Beautiful Wings butterflies with Pink Pirouette C/S and sponged the textured parts with Suede ink. The Craft Taffeta ribbon completes the card! Simple and easy! I'm off to my son's AAU bball tourny this weekend! Have a great one and don't forget to check out the PCS April issue which starts tomorrow! I'm so excited to show you my tiny paper roses! Use Code PCSCF or mention me-Cherie to sign up. Coming next week are projects made with these roses so check back and for the tutoral sign up for PCS!

Butterfly Charm

Today's card pairs River Rock and Soft Suede together. I used the Beautiful Wings die along with Pink Pirouette C/S stamped with River Rock ink to cut out the butterflies with. Love the sizes of these little butterflies, they are just perfect for cards! I stamped the background with the Bella Toile stamp inked with River Rock ink first, then added the different images from the Charming set using River Rock ink and then Soft Suede ink. I masked off the script words with flowers and sponged River Rock ink around them. All the edges are sponged with River Rock and the butterflies are sponged with Suede. I used the Hobby Blade to cut slits on each side of the Create and script to insert the pink taffeta ribbon under and through the panel.
So my Colors for the week are...Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and River Rock! LOL
The flowers were inked using Garden Green and Pretty in Pink Markers!

Nouveau Collage

This is such a fun paper from the Nouveau Chic Designer Paper! I drew some lines on the main paper panel and stamped the swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs around the edges in black. I shaded in the flower with the black crayon and then added the punched bird using the same paper and the two-step bird punch. The clock is also stamped on paper from the same pack and then cut out and layered on a vellum top note. The strip across is paper and black brads were added to finish the look. I was just playing around with the paper and decided to just build on the design of it. Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break everyone!
