Watercolor Rose

I actually made this card to coordinate with my Shades of Spring Paper Button! LOL  I touched the water color paper the greeting is stamped on with my aqua painter that still had some green on it. So I added touches all over it with green to make it look like I planned it that way. That's the great thing about Hand Stamped, if you make a mistake you can often do the same thing on the other side and turn it into a work of art! For this I masked off the stamped rose and stamped the leaves with Always Artichoke ink. I stamped two more extra leaves on a seperate scrap of watercolor paper and cut them out to layer against the rose. This SU watercolor paper is so awesome! I love to color with my markers inside an area and then wash over it with my wet brush, the color spreads so nicely with no Marker lines! Supplies used: Stamps: Fifth Ave. Floral, Le Jardin Botanique, Teeny Tiny wishes. Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Watercolor Paper. Ink: Stazon Black pad, Markers: Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, More Mustard and Bashful Blue. Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Linen Thread, Aqua Painter

Pastel Side Step Card

Today's Card is a 'Side Step' Card using the My Matryoshka Stamp set which is so perfect for this card! I used all the stamps in the set too! This card also features the 5 Layer Button technique and because I'm using that technique for my class on the 8th, I won't reveal how I made the button until after my class on the 8th! Although this technique is not new,  many people already know how to make these. This button was stamped and colored but I Love, Love these buttons, I could just sit and make a ton of them! Ok The card base is Pretty in Pink C/S 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" I think it's easier to mark with a ruler the two points where you will be cutting on your paper trimmer. You measure 3 1/2" on the short side in and mark at 1" from the long end then move up the card still on the long side and mark at 6 3/8" at 3 1/2" in. Those are the two points you cut between at 3 1/2" in! Then score across the card at the 4 1/4" as you would a regular card. Then score across from the cut line to the edge of card at the long end at 1", 2", 3 1/8", and 6 3/8" so these score marks are from the the cut line to the edge of the short side of the card. Be sure to score across the correct side, you should be scoring across the 3 1/2" side! So your card base is in front of you long side up and down. Your cut line is vertical and your score marks are horizontal on one side except for the 4 1/4" which goes all the way across! You may have made this Side Step card before but for those who have not, I hope this helps! Here are my supplies for this card. Paper: Pretty in Pink C/S, Whisper White C/S, SU watercolor paper (umm love it!) Inks: Staz On black, Markers: Rose red, Regal Rose, Garden Green, More Mustard, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom. Stamp Sets: My Matryoshka, Well Scripted. Accessories: Scallop Trim corner, Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Crystal effects, Wide oval and Scallop oval punches

Ink: Basic Black Pad, Bashful Blue Pad, White craft pad (stamped on Blue middle),Crayons (full set), Cameo Coral Marker, Creamy Caramel Marker, Suede Marker, Ballet Blue Marker. Spring Watercolor

For today's card I used the watercolor crayons and ink from the markers. This is another one of those sets with intricate details that requires a fine point coloring tool! I love my small pointy watercolor brush but Stampin' Up! no longer carries them so I use my aqua painter whenever possible. For the scallops on each side of the card over the ribbon, I used my Scallop corner punch and snipped the corner off and tucked it under the edge of the center piece on each side. Supplies Used: Paper: Rose Red C/S, Sweet Pea Paper Stack, Shimmery white C/S Ink: Basic Black Pad, Water Color wonder crayons (Lg set of all colors), Markers: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Garden Green. The background sky and around the words are colored with Bordering Blue Crayon. Acessories: Large Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Scallop Corner punch, Elementary Ribbon Originals, Rich Regal Brads.

Pastel Matryoshka

Today's Card uses the Welcome Neighbor paper pad from the Sale-a-bration mini catalog, I love these soft patterns! The Dolls and border were stamped on Whisper White C/S with Basic Black and colored with the soft subtles markers. I used the Scallop Border punch and Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon. The card base is whisper white and the main image is layered on So saffron C/S. Love those new Felt Sweet Pea stitched Flowers from the Occasions mini, I attached them with a 3-d glue dot which worked pretty good! Saying if from Vintage Vogue Stamp set.
Is Spring here yet? LOL

Sweet Pea Matryoshka

This stamp set My Matryoshka and the Sweet Pea paper stack are both from the Occasiona Mini Catalog. What a great set and the Sweet Pea paper stack is to die for, so versitile! I love all the choices in the larger stack too! Ok so for todays card I used my markers and aqua painter. For this card I did color directly on the images with the lighter color markers and then the darker color markers, I colored the markers on my stamp case and then picked up the ink with my aqua painter and applied it. This background paper is Taken with Teal patterned paper and the card base and mat for the main image are Taken with Teal C/S. The houndstooth middle is the reverse side of the Taken with Teal main background paper. The dolls are stamped on Whisper white cardstock with Basic Black ink. I sponged the edges of the top and bottom of the stamped dolls piece with Taken with Teal ink. The scallop ovals at the sides are from a Rose Red pattern paper from the same Sweet Pea paper pack and stamped with the rose image from the set in Rose Red ink and attached with Pretty in Pink Corduroy Brads/Buttons from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Markers I used: Rose Red, Taken with Teal, More Mustard, Garden Green, Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, So Saffron

Shades of Spring Birthday

For this card I used the new Shades of Spring DS paper and the Messages for Mom set from the Occasions mini catalog, along with the Sale-a-bration Vintage Labels set. Both sets are the clear mount and I am so pleased with these new cling stamps and clear blocks! I also used the new Scallop trim punch from the Sale-a-bration catalog! I made a few Birthday cards as I have several friends with B-days in January!
I used Basic Brown ink and water colored the images using the colors in the new paper! Colors: Orchid, Celery, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate chip. Cardstock: Orchid & Shimmery white. Finished with the Soft Subtles Brads and scallop circle & 3/4" circle punches.

Split Negative Technique

Today's Card features the split negative technique. Super simple but nice. I cut out my two Cardstock pieces, white & black and then cut out my red mat. I first attached both pieces onto the red mat with a small amount of mono adhesive in the middle being sure there are no gaps along the middle seam, stamped the heart with versa mark and then removed each half and embossed with white powder on black and black powder on white! Then I reattached both pieces together and finished the card with Night & Day DS paper and Christmas Cocoa DS paper. Both of these DS papers are from the Holiday mini but your could subsitute with the new Occasions mini Paper packs just as easily! That new Sending Love Specialty paper would be fabulous with the sparkly red paper!

Simple Easter Card

I've been playing with the new Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration products! As always, I love everything! This paper is from the the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper stack from the Occasions mini catalog!
I stamped the image with Basic Brown ink on Vanilla Cardstock cut out with the Bigshot and the Topnote die. I used Celery, Garden Green, More Mustard and Saffron ink pads and my aqua painter, using the ink on the back of the lids for watercoloring. I then used my aqua painter to go around the flowers and perforated edge of the top note with ink from the lid of my Bashful Blue pad. The card base is Vanilla C/S and the greeting is stamped on Shimmery wt. C/S with Basic brown to offset the white dots on the background paper and then punched it out with the Modern label punch. I also went around the edge of the modern label and the stamped words with Bashful blue ink from the lid of my pad to tie it all together!
Finished off with Moss Taffeta ribbon and Vintage brads!

Bead Purse Necklace

My final beaded project is this cute little purse necklace. The pattern for this is the die cut purse boxes that Stampin' Up! had a couple of years ago...remember those?  I traced the die cut purse box on a sheet of copy paper and then ran it through my scanner. I printed the image much smaller and used the cut out to trace my little purse on a sheet of Pretty in Pink Cardstock. I stamped over the whole traced image with the Floral background stamp inked with Rose Red classic ink. After cutting out the purse I traced around it on a sheet of 12 x 12 Sticky Sheet. When I cut out the traced sticky sheet I made sure to cut outside the traced lines because you want the sticky sheet purse a little larger. I scored and folded the cardstock purse and then removed the sticky sheet backing. Be sure to adhere the bottom cardstock to the sticky sheet and then the sides one at a time folded and the flap last so that your folds are correctly aligned. Peel off the outside layer on the sticky sheet and using the clear micro beads cover the little purse completely. I pressed the beads into the sides and bottom and flap to get a good firm hold. The 4 bottom corners of the purse were covered with crystal effects and I adhered brass book corners onto each one for purse the feet. For the flap I used a working snap on the inside which I glued on with E6000. On each side at the top, I punched a hole with the 1/16" circle handheld punch and inserted 5 mm jumpring. The handle is a piece of cord threaded through the jumprings and tied off and to add a finishing touch is a rhinestone glued onto the outside snap. I made these little purses as gifts and once you have the patten scanned and shrunk down and cut out, it's really quite easy to make these. The corners can be adhered with hot glue too!
An updated version of this project would use the Bella Toile Background stamps and leave the hardware corners off and maybe use one of the SU ribbons in place of the cording for the handle? Endless possibilites...

Beaded Styles

This was super fun. I used the Green and Pink Bead duos for this card. The pink bead duo comes with clear micro beads which are in the center of the solid edge flower and pink seed/bungle beads.
The colors for this card are Brushed Gold and Pretty in Pink. This card is made with the Always set. The background images were stamped with Gold Encore but not embossed. The Bird, Solid edge flower and saying was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Gold powder. Kraft taffeta ribbon, Word window and Modern Label punches, Crystal effects.

Bead Valentine Bird

This is a sweet card, I little busy but still ok I think! I used the Gifts of Christmas set, when I put this set together, I mounted the Christmas Wishes part of this image on a seperate piece of wood. I'm always on the lookout for seasonal sets that can be used for other occasions! This stamp would be great for a Wedding card as well! The supplies used for this card are: Whisper wt. C/S base and Large heart. ( I cheated and traced the Lg. heart from a retired SU stencil) Shimmery wt. C/S for the background panel used with the bigshot and the new Polka dots folder for texture. Markers: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Celery, Pale plum. Pink taffeta ribbon, Vanilla hardware, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Crystal effects, Pink Duo seed/Bungle beads.
The images were colored with the markers and then stamped. The vanilla Hardware label has glitter on it but does not show up very well! I smeared the crystal effects around the hardware label edges and then sprinkled with the glitter. Beads were placed on the dots and centers of flowers!

Valentine Beads

This card was simple and the beads add a detailed touch! The heart from Always stamp set was stamped on Pretty in pink C/S with Regal rose ink and then I added clear micro beads to the center with crystal effects and then I added silver micro beads to the outer outline of the heart. I just started adding a small silver bead on each end of the modern label punch. I really like the way this looks instead of a brad which seems a little large sometimes!
The C/S used was : Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and the new Sending Love DS specialty paper. The greeting was stamped with silver encore ink.(teeny tiny wishes set) Punches: word window, modern label Ribbon-Pink taffeta- Big shot with the new Perfect Polka Dots folder for the background!

Card Beading

Today's Card uses the SU Silver beads! Micro and Bungle. The SU bead duo assortments are perfect for Cards & Scrapbook pages! Offering no bulk for mailing too! They come in 6 different colors: Pink, Blue, Green, Orange, Red and Silver. I really love these beads and the unique look they offer so I'm going to try to post a project using them over each of the next few days! How fun! I embossed the flowers from Fifth Ave. Floral set on shimmery C/S with versa mark ink and silver powder. I used SU markers to color the flowers- Markers: Apricot, Banana, Pumpkin, Mustard. The aqua painter was used to fill in the darker colors, direct from the pen. Cut flowers out. I stamped the background with the new Vintage vogue set from the Occasions mini with silver Encore ink. The greeting is from Teeny tiny wishes set stamped with silver Encore ink. I also stamped with Silver & Black inks Punpkin Pie C/S and punched out the wide oval. Punch out the label with Brushed silver C/S and use the white gel pen for the dots. The centers of the flowers are the Micro Silver beads applied with Crystal effects and the corner and variously applied beads are the Bungle small beads applied with Crystal effects!

Faux Turquoise Technique

Well I decided to add this card to my blog today because I love collage and I didn't have this added to any of my galleries. The center of the medallion I used the Faux Turquoise Technique which you can find in the Oct/Nov. issue of Technique Junkies! I wanted to feature the turquoise on the card and of course all I could see was jewelry peices in my mind! I embossed the medallion from Boho backgrounds set on brushed silver with silver embossing powder then trimmed. The chain could be drawn with a versa marker and embossed with silver. Sets for this card include: Charming, Medallion, Boho Backgrounds, retired Weathered background and En Francais. C/S: Shimmery, Dusty durango, T. turquoise and Brushed silver. Inks: Suede, Durango, Bermuda, Sahara sand & versa mark.
